Ukraine: Britain will present an ‘action plan’ to ‘fail’ Russia

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will present an international “action plan” aimed at “failing” the Russian invasion of Ukraine and will increase his diplomatic contacts for this purpose next week in London, his services announced on Saturday.

Following the wave of “unprecedented” sanctions by the West against Russian interests in response to the Russian attack on Ukraine, Boris Johnson will call on the international community to step up its “coordinated effort” against Moscow with a six-point action plan. he intends to present in detail today, clarified his office on Downing Street.

Russian President Vladimir Putin “must fail and we must make sure he fails” in this attack, the conservative prime minister said in a press release issued by London.

“It is not enough to express our support for the rule-based international order, we must defend it against a constant effort to review the rules through military force,” he added.

To this end, Mr. Johnson will have meetings tomorrow, Monday, on Downing Street, initially separately, then in tripartite, with his counterparts from the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, and his Canadian counterpart, Justin Trinto.

On Tuesday he will receive in London the leaders of the so-called Visegrad team (Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia).

The action plan envisages, among other things, the creation of an international coalition to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine, to support the country’s ability to defend itself, to “maximize” the economic pressure on the Russian regime, to prevent what it does from becoming a “cliché” Russia in Ukraine, to continue the diplomatic effort to de-escalate and launch a “rapid campaign” to strengthen security in the Euro-Atlantic area, at 10 Downing Street.
