Ukraine condemns US warnings of a Russian invasion

US warnings of an imminent Russian attack on Ukraine “cause panic and do not help” Ukrainians, President Volodymyr Zelensky said today, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

“Right now the best friend of our enemies is panic in our country. And all this information (about a possible attack) all they do is cause panic and do not help us,” he said. during a visit to the countryside.

He said there were “too many” statements about a “deep, totalitarian war on Russia’s part”.

“If you have any additional information about a 100% certainty intrusion, give it to us!”

“We understand the danger, we know they are there,” he added.

The United States has been estimating for weeks that a Russian invasion of the neighboring country is imminent, and yesterday said it might be a matter of days.

“We work at the diplomatic level, we talk every day with the authorities of different countries, their leaders, at different levels. That is why we believe that the diplomatic route is the only one that will lead to de-escalation,” Zelenski noted today.
