The death toll from the Russian bombings launched yesterday in Ukraine has now reached 43 dead civilians, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said during his speech at a think tank in Washington, during the NATO meeting. “Forty-three people were killed” in the attacks, Mr Zelensky said in a speech at the Ronald Reagan Institute in the US capital, where the North Atlantic Treaty Organization meeting is being held. Mr Zelensky had earlier given a toll of around 40 dead, including more than 30 in the capital, where a Russian missile destroyed a children’s hospital. He also said that around 200 people were injured. Yesterday was declared a day of national mourning in Ukraine, where the attack on the children’s hospital caused shockwaves and was strongly condemned by Kiev and its Western allies. Source: RES
