Ukraine: Five cargo ships loaded with grain will depart from Ukrainian ports tomorrow

Five cargo ships loaded with grain will depart tomorrow from the Ukrainian ports of Chornomorsk and Odesa, the Joint Coordination Center that oversees the operations announced.

In total, these ships are carrying 161,000 tons of corn and food products to Turkey, China and Italy, announced the Joint Coordination Center, which will monitor their journey to Istanbul, where they will be inspected before crossing the Bosphorus.

With these new departures, Ukrainian grain exports will gradually acquire a normal rhythm.

The Joint Coordination Center clarifies in its announcement that it is “completing the procedures of the systematization of exports” within the framework of the Black Sea Initiative.

Today the experts completed the inspection of the Navistar ship which had sailed yesterday from Odessa bound for Ireland.

Two more ships that sailed at the same time will be inspected tomorrow.

Addressing Ukrainians last night, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his satisfaction at the resumption of exports of Ukrainian agricultural production. “Our Black Sea ports are working,” he said.

“However, the main risk, security, remains. The risk of a Russian provocation and terrorist acts remains. We all need to realize that. But if our partners fulfill their obligations and guarantee the security of exports, this will solve the global food crisis,” he added.
