Ukraine: Foreign Minister accuses Russian soldiers of rape in Ukrainian cities

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said on Friday that Russian soldiers had committed rapes in Ukrainian cities, according to Reuters.

Kuleba did not provide any evidence for his claim, as the agency notes. Reuters also reported that it could not independently verify the claim of the Ukrainian Foreign Minister.

“When bombs fall on your cities, when soldiers rape women in the occupied cities – and we have many cases, unfortunately, with Russian soldiers raping women in Ukrainian cities – it is difficult, of course, to talk about the effectiveness of international law,” he said. “But this is the only culture tool we have at our disposal to ensure that eventually all those who made this war possible will be brought to justice,” said Kuleba, who spoke English.
