France delivered 55 tonnes of medical supplies, computer equipment, baby milk and generators to Ukraine via Poland on Monday, the foreign ministry said.
The emergency aid, worth 2.4 million euros, was sent by air, by freight A330, from Paris to Warsaw, clarified Ced d’Orce in a press release.
“In coordination with the Polish authorities, this material will be delivered to the Ukrainian authorities without delay,” he assured.
The medical equipment – weighing 10 tons – includes ten oxygen generators, intended for intensive care units, as well as nine tons of drugs.
Thirty-one generators were also sent, including six high-capacity ones, intended to “enhance” the operation of the “Ukrainian health structures” by guaranteeing their electricity supply.
Eight tonnes of IT equipment – smartphones, computers, routers, and 60 km of fiber optics – are expected to contribute to telecommunications and other connections.
Collective organizations and companies contributed by making donations. Nine 42-square-meter tents were donated to the Polish Red Cross to receive Ukrainian refugees.
Some 3.5 million Ukrainians have fled their homeland since the start of the Russian offensive on February 24, about half of whom have crossed into neighboring Poland.
