The inspection of the cargo ship Razoni and the first authorized cargo of Ukrainian grain has been completed, the Turkish Defense Ministry told reporters late this morning.
After this inspection, which lasted a little less than an hour and a half, “the ship will shortly sail the Bosphorus to go to Lebanon,” the same source clarified.
The inspection took place at the Bosphorus entrance. The expert delegations arrived at the Sierra Leone-flagged cargo ship aboard two speedboats.
The ship will now head to the port of Tripoli in northern Lebanon via the Bosphorus.
The 26,000-tonne cargo of maize carried by the Razoni, which departed on Monday morning from the Ukrainian port of Odesa, is the first to be allowed to be exported under the agreement reached on July 22 in Istanbul between Russia and Ukraine with the mediation of Turkey and under the auspices of the United Nations.
This agreement allows the resumption of Ukrainian grain shipments to world markets under international supervision after the Russian invasion.
