Kiev is increasing spending to bolster Ukraine's armed forces with drones by 15.5 billion hryvnias (367 million euros), according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal. “With the funds allocated today, 300,000 drones will be delivered this year to our country's security and defense forces,” he told a cabinet meeting. Schmihal said the budget had previously earmarked 43.3 billion hryvnias for the purchase of drones. Ukraine has stepped up efforts to develop and produce various types of drones, more than two years since the start of the Russian invasion. In recent weeks, Ukrainian forces have frequently launched strikes on Russian territory, far from the border. A woman was killed today in a village in Russia's Kursk region due to a Ukrainian drone strike, according to regional governor Roman Starovoit. The Russian Defense Ministry had earlier announced that three drones were intercepted in the Kursk and Belgorod regions. Source: APE – MEB
