Rudenko made the statement at a time when Russian lawmakers were discussing and voting on terms of friendship with the two breakaway regions of eastern Ukraine. whose independence was recognized yesterday, Monday, by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Meanwhile, the People’s Council of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic in eastern Ukraine passed a law ratifying the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Aid between Russia and the pro-Russian separatist region, a Sputnik correspondent reported. All 87 MEPs in the plenary session voted in favor of ratifying the agreement.
The next step after the ratification of the cooperation agreement with Russia will be the establishment of diplomatic relations and trade between relevant ministries, said Dennis Pushilin, head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic in eastern Ukraine, according to the APE-MPE.
Meanwhile 46 deputies attending a meeting of the People’s Council of the self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Luhansk in the east Ukraine supported the ratification of a similar agreement with Russia.
