Ukraine: New bombings at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant

Fresh artillery shelling today targeted the perimeter of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, Europe’s largest, a pro-Russian official of the occupation forces said, blaming Kiev forces for the shelling.

“(Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky’s fighters bombed the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant again,” Vladimir Rogov, a member of the occupation administration installed by the Russians in that southern Ukrainian region, told Telegram.

For its part, Ukraine’s state-owned nuclear power company Energoatom said the complex housing the nuclear power plant was bombed, blaming Russian forces.

Energoatom said the area of ​​the plant, including the site where radioactive materials are stored, was shelled five times, but stressed that no one was injured and the situation at the plant remains under control.
