Fresh artillery shelling today targeted the perimeter of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, Europe’s largest, a pro-Russian official of the occupation forces said, blaming Kiev forces for the shelling.
“(Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky’s fighters bombed the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant again,” Vladimir Rogov, a member of the occupation administration installed by the Russians in that southern Ukrainian region, told Telegram.
For its part, Ukraine’s state-owned nuclear power company Energoatom said the complex housing the nuclear power plant was bombed, blaming Russian forces.
Energoatom said the area of the plant, including the site where radioactive materials are stored, was shelled five times, but stressed that no one was injured and the situation at the plant remains under control.
