Ukraine: Putin orders 10,000 rubles to help every Donbas refugee

The president Vladimir Putin instructed today (Friday) the Minister of Emergency Situations to travel to the southeast Russia to organize the residence of the inhabitants leaving the two self-proclaimed breakaway republics of the eastern Of Ukrainein the Donbassas well as financial assistance of 10,000 rubles (116 euros) in any refugee arriving in the Rostov region.

According to telegrams from foreign agencies, Putin gave this order in response to the request of the governor of the Rostov region Vassily Golubevwho asked him to arrange for emergency assistance due to the unexpectedly large influx of refugees.

“Putin spoke by telephone with the acting Minister of Emergency Situations, Alexander Tsupriyan“and instructed him to go urgently to the Rostov region to organize on-site work to create accommodation, provide hot meals and everything he needs, including medical care,” a Kremlin spokesman said. Dmitry Peshkov.

“The Russian president also gave instructions to the Russian government to ensure urgently “Every refugee arriving in the area from Donbas will receive 10,000 rubles,” Peshkov added.

The first buses in Rostov

The first buses transporting civilians from the separatist provinces of Ukraine arrived in the Rostov region of Russia late tonight, the Tass news agency reported.

The two self-proclaimed breakaway regions are located in the Donbas region of Ukraine. The self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic announced earlier today the mass evacuation of the region and the promotion of its inhabitants to Russia, after the increase in bombing.

The self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Luhansk later issued a similar statement, according to the APE BPE.

The separatists and the Ukrainian government are blaming each other for the escalation of tensions in the region.
