Ukraine: Residents of Mariupol suffer from a lack of water and draw it from puddles and wells

In her city occupied by Russian troops Mariupoli its residents receive five liters of drinking water per week, while to get to the distribution points they have to queue up early in the morning. The relevant announcement was made by the municipal council of the city, with its posting on the social networking medium Telegram, reports the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform.

It is pointed out that drinking water is one of the biggest problems in Mariupol and the people, in order to survive, draw water from pits and drainage wells. But this water is dangerous because makeshift graves are scattered all over the city and there is garbage everywhere. All of these erode the soil and water, increasing the chances of infections from infectious diseases.

“If to these shortcomings is added and the lack of proper medical carethe use of such liquids can have a fatal outcome”, the announcement of the municipal council states.

People are forced to stand in queues or look for alternatives. In fact, no one controls the quality of the water that is distributed to them. The conquerors in the center of Europe made it so that water has turned into real gold,” Boychenko wrote.
