THE grandson of Robert Kennedy he fought in the war in Ukraine, as he claimed in a post he made on social media, as he posted a text, where he recounted his story, while he had as a background a soldier with his back turned, where it is assumed that he is himself.
According to pagesix.comConor Kennedy stated that “like many people, I was deeply moved by what I saw happening in Ukraine during the last year”.
“I wanted to help. When I heard about the International Legion of UkraineI knew I was going and I went to the embassy to register the next day,” he noted afterwards.
At the same time, he claimed he wanted anonymity, so he revealed his real name to only one person. “I didn’t want my family or friends to worry and I didn’t want them to treat me differently there. I had no military experience and was not a good marksman, but I could carry heavy things and was a quick learner. I was also willing to die there. So they soon agreed to send me to the north-eastern front. My time in Ukraine was not long, but I saw a lot and felt a lot“, he said characteristically.
He also added that “I liked being a soldier, more than I expected. It’s scary. But life is simple and the rewards for finding courage and good are significant.”
“But war will shape the fate of democracy in this century. There is more to say about its politics and the role of Western governments there. Currently, I will only urge you to help in your personal capacity. Become a member of the legion, help at the border or send medical supplies. Every day, someone there sacrifices everything for a lasting peace. We can’t ask them to act on their own,” he said following the post he made on Instagram.
