The Russian Defense Ministry announced today that the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal supersonic missiles (nicknamed “manual” or “dagger”) were used to destroy an underground depot of missiles and ammunition for aircraft in western Ukraine.
He also said that radio communication equipment and reconnaissance centers near the port of Odessa were destroyed, according to the Russian news agency Interfax.
Ultrasonic missiles, with a design that allows them to perform complex maneuvers throughout the flight and reach speeds of up to 10 Mach, are now impossible to shoot down by any air defense system, at least according to Moscow.
They were used for the first time in the war in Ukraine, the state news agency RIA reported.
Reuters news agency notes that it is impossible to verify these announcements independently.
