Ukraine-Russia war: Blown-up Crimean bridge to be repaired by July

Her repair Crimean bridge, partially destroyed by an explosion on Saturday (8/10) ordered the Russia stressing that it should be completed by July 1.

The government “sets a deadline for the end of state contracts to carry out the work on July 1, 2023,” according to a decree signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

THE bridge of Crimea, a symbol of the annexation of the Ukrainian peninsula of the same name and critical for resupplying Russian troops engaged in Ukraine, was partially destroyed by a truck bomb attack, according to Moscow.

The Russian security services (FSB) stressed, as reported by the Athens News Agency, that this “terrorist attack” was organized by the Ukrainian military intelligence services, claiming that a Kiev agent coordinated the transfer of explosives through several countries and was in contact with various intermediaries.

In retaliation, Russia on Monday and Tuesday launched massive bombardments across Ukraine, mainly targeting civilian energy infrastructure, which caused many power and water outages.

The day before yesterday, Wednesday, the FSB announced that it had arrested eight people – five Russians and “three Ukrainian and Armenian citizens” – allegedly involved in this attack.

Road and rail traffic has however partially resumed for several days on the bridge.
