Ukraine: Russians take $ 135 million worth of equipment from Chernobyl nuclear power plant

The Russian military, which had taken control of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant for more than a month during the Russian-led invasion of Ukraine, withdrew $ 135 million worth of equipment, according to the Washington Post.

“The Russian military took with them 690 computers, 344 cars, 1,500 radioactive meters, almost all the fire protection equipment and many irreplaceable instruments necessary for the operation of the power plant,” according to a statement issued by its director. Central Analysis Laboratory of Nikolai Bespali Station.

The director of the State Service of Ukraine, which is in charge of managing the dead zone, Yevgeny Kramarenko, announced that some of the instruments they had had a built-in GPS. “We see that some of these instruments are located in Belarus, along the border. Some of them are still located in Minsk, in the city of Gomel and in other cities.”
