Ukraine carried out a prisoner exchange with Russia on Saturday, the third exchange since the start of the war, and 12 soldiers are returning home, said Iryna Vereshchuk, Ukraine’s deputy prime minister.
Vereshchuk also said that, as part of the deal, 14 civilians were returning to Ukraine. She did not say how many Russians were freed.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky received British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in Kiev on Saturday, according to a senior Ukrainian government official.
Britain will send Ukraine another 100 million pounds – about $130 million – of military support, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Friday after a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Additionally, UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss tweeted that the UK will send more “lethal aid” to Ukraine, including 120 more armored vehicles; new anti-ship missile systems.
