The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Friday that “essential” equipment at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant site was not affected by the fire, according to Ukrainian officials.
He added that “factory employees (are) taking mitigating actions”.
According to Ukraine, a training building outside the plant’s perimeter was hit. The director of Zaporizhzhia told Ukraine 24 television that radiation safety had been established at the site.
Spokesperson Andrii Tuz said the plant did not sustain any critical damage, although only one power generation unit out of six is operating. He further stated that at least one power generating unit at the nuclear power plant was hit during the conflict.
“A lot of technical equipment was hit,” the spokesperson explained to CNN. Tuz also communicated that Ukrainian troops are in control of Zaporizhzhia.
