Heavy fighting has taken place over the past 48 hours as Ukrainian forces continue their offensive against Russia in Kherson province, west of the Dnieper River, British military intelligence said today.
Russian forces are using artillery fire along the Inhulets River, a tributary of the Dnieper, the British Ministry of Defense said.
“The supply lines of Russian forces west of the river are increasingly at risk,” the ministry said in an intelligence briefing.
He added that additional Ukrainian strikes caused further damage to the Antonievsky Bridge, although Russia made temporary repairs.
Meanwhile, three people were killed as 13 Russian missiles hit a military airport and railway infrastructure in the Kirovkhrad region of central Ukraine today, the local governor said.
Speaking on television, Governor Andrii Raykovic said two security guards were killed at an electricity substation. He also said that one Ukrainian soldier was killed and nine others were wounded.
Raykovic said the strikes caused problems in the power grid, leaving a sector of the regional capital Kropyvnytskyi without electricity.
