The Ukrainian parliament extended the martial law and the mobilization for another three months, until August 23, as deputies said today.
President Volodymyr Zelensky first imposed the measure on February 24, hours after the Russian invasion.
Martial law gives the military extended rights and restricts civil liberties such as the right of assembly.
Men between the ages of 18 and 60 who are in good physical condition are not allowed to leave the country and are invited to take part in the battles against the Russians.
Many lawmakers confirmed today via Telegram that the extension of the martial law, which was recently proposed by Zelensky, was approved until August 23.
A day later, on August 24, Ukraine traditionally celebrates its Independence Day.
