Ukraine, the story of Vitaly and Alla, married and dead in the steel mill

They got married in Azovstal, the steel mill that remains Mariupol’s last stronghold of Ukrainian resistance. Vitaly and Allochka (aka Alla) Taranov were also have become parents of a child for a few months. This new family, who grew up in the steel mill, was destroyed by the war, as the deputy commander of the Azov special regiment Sviatoslav Palamar told in an interview relaunched on Telegram by the Municipality of Mariupol.

Vitaly died on April 15 in a fight, and his wife Alla lost her life on May 8, during an air raid by the Moscow forces. Their baby, who is only a few months old, was orphaned.

“They got married in Azov. Their family was born here and they too grew up here, ”says Sviatoslav Palamar. “Their son was also born in Mariupol. They were in the battalion almost from the start. They had worked in the kitchen, then they joined. Alla was a clerk, Vitaly one of the financial managers. Allochka worked as a hairdresser and manicurist before the war and she wanted everything around her to be beautiful. Vitaly worried more and more for others than for himself. And he sang very well ».

The deputy commander continues: “Two heroes died, there was nothing I could do. I and the whole command are fighting around the clock. This story is about one family. But many others were born here, many families were born here, let’s remember that qThese young and beautiful people are now dying to defend our land“.

The siege of Azovstal seems to have come to an end. Denys Prokopenko, the commander of the Azov regiment, said Ukrainian soldiers in Azovstal had “fulfilled their orders” and “fought the Russian army for 82 days”. According to Russian media, an agreement has been reached to evacuate the seriously wounded soldiers from Azovstal to the Russian-occupied city of Novoazovsk. Reuters reported that about a dozen buses, allegedly carrying Ukrainian fighters, left the steel mill.
