Ukraine: The Turkish ambassador apologizes for the departure of a Russian ship with stolen grain

Kyiv calls for an apology from the Turkish ambassador, because a Russian one left Turkey shipwhich was checked some days ago, because it is considered to be transporting stolen goods cereals from Ukraine.

Specifically, on Sunday (3/7) the ship had docked at a Turkish port, with Turkish customs authorities inspecting its cargofollowing a prosecutorial request of Ukraine.

Nevertheless, the ship departed on Thursday (7/7) normally from the Turkish port, with the representative of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleg Nikolenko to state in a post on Twitter, that “we express our regret that the Russian ship Zhibek Zholy, which was full of stolen Ukrainian grain, was allowed to depart from the port of Karas despite the evidence of wrongdoing presented to the Turkish authorities ».

Also, citing the ship’s crew, the Russian news agency TASS reported today that Russian ship Zhibek Zholy plans to offload grain to ‘a storage vessel’ after departing from the point where Arodo was located near a Turkish port. The ship’s destination seems to be the Russian port of Caucasus, where it is expected to arrive tomorrow, Friday.

High-ranking Turkish officialwho asked not to be named, told AFP that the ship “entered Russian territorial waters, but without approaching any port”.

Turkey’s DHA news agency reported that the truck turned off its transponder, the device that allows ships to be located at sea.
