Ukraine, USA: “Russia could use chemical weapons”

In Ukraine, according to the United States, the risk that Russia “uses chemical weapons” cannot be ruled out. This was stated by Jen Psaki, spokesman for the White House, who in a post on Twitter, in which he called the statements of the Russian Foreign Ministry “false”, according to which the US is developing chemical and biological weapons in Ukraine on the border with the Russia, specified: «We should all be alert to Russia’s use of chemical weapons or to expect Moscow to use them to create a pretext is a clear pattern ».

Meanwhile, after the bombing of the children’s hospital in Mariupol, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says: “It is a war crime. It is the definitive proof that the genocide of the Ukrainians is underway ». And, addressing Europe: “You cannot say that you did not see what happened to the Ukrainians, what happened to the residents of Mariupol”.

During the night the bombs were dropped in the north-east of Ukraine, in particular on the city of Okhtyrka, in the Sumy region: the budget is at least three dead, including a 13-year-old and two women. The bombing that hit a residential building near the city of Kharkiv last night caused four deaths, including two children. Russian air strikes have also struck two hospitals and a power plant in the city of Zhytomyr, west of Kiev. Yesterday, around 35,000 were evacuated through the humanitarian corridors, and today another three humanitarian corridors are expected to open: from Mariupol, from Volnovakha, in the south east, and from Izioum, in the east.

According to a US source, so far between 5,000 and 6,000 Russian soldiers died in combat in the first two weeks of conflict in Ukraine. The wounded would instead be between 15,000 and 18,000.
