Ukraine war: Black Sea grain deal extended for 60 days, says Russian official

The agreement for cereals of the Black Sea facilitating the export of Ukrainian agricultural products has been extended based on its previous terms, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said, according to the TASS agency.

“Indeed, the agreement was extended – it was agreed to be extended for 60 days,” Grusko told TASS. THE Ukraine will stick to the terms of a previously signed agreement on a 120-day extension of the Black Sea grain export initiative, a senior Ukrainian government official said today.

Since the Russia and Ukraine signed the UN-backed Black Sea Grain Export Initiative in Turkey on July 22, millions of tons of grain and other food products have been exported from Ukrainian ports.

“We will strictly adhere to the agreement”the official, who wished to remain anonymous, told Reuters.

And the RIA news agency reported that Grusko said the deal had been extended.
