The Kremlin has categorically denied any wrongdoing in connection with the killings of civilians in the Ukrainian city of Bukhara, saying Ukrainian allegations in this regard should be taken seriously. Ukrainian authorities announced yesterday, Sunday, that they are investigating possible crimes by Russian forces after found hundreds of corpses in towns outside Kyiv after the Russians withdrew from the area.
Speaking to reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov said The events and the date of the events in Bouka do not support the version of Ukraine and called on international leaders not to rush to make judgments.
Peshkov said Russian diplomats would continue their efforts to convene the UN Security Council and discuss what Moscow has called “Ukrainian provocations” in Bukhara, despite their first attempt to convene such a meeting was blocked.
Peshkov declined to comment on whether the outrage over Bouka could affect the peace talks between Moscow and Kyiv, which are to be repeated today via video conference.
