Ukraine war: Britain to give at least $2.63 billion in military aid to Kyiv in 2023

THE Liz Trussits new prime minister United Kingdombefore her first official trip to New York for its General Assembly UNpromised that her government would continue to support her Ukraine.

The prime minister emphasized, the “Financial Times” as well as many British media reports, that she will give Ukraine, during 2023, at least the same military aid that Britain gave during 2022 in order to to confront the Russian armed forces. This means the UK will ship equipment worth at least $2.63 billion.

Her promise comes amid the ongoing Ukrainian counter-offensive to the east and south of the country and the recapture of areas that were under Russian occupation. Before leaving for New York Mrs. Truss said: “Ukraine’s victories in recent weeks are an inspiration” and continued:

“Time and time again these brave men have defied their naysayers and proven what they are capable of if given the military, financial and political support they need. My message to the people of Ukraine is this: “The UK will stand by your side every step of the way. Your safety is our safety”.

According to the newspaper “The Mirror” the military aid that the British will send will also include multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and other heavy equipment.

According to Downing Street, Mrs Truss’ speech at the UN will focus on the war in Ukraine and will highlight the UK’s long-term support for the country at a military, humanitarian and political level.
