The Ukrainian government is putting pressure on that of USA to supply its armed forces with longer-range missiles for HIMARS systems that they recently received, Fedir Venislavski, a member of the defense affairs committee of the Ukrainian parliament, said on Wednesday.
Today the Ukrainian army it has missiles with a range of 70 kilometers. The US has in its arsenal missiles capable of hitting targets at a distance of 300 to 500 kilometers. The city of Lugansk, the capital of the self-proclaimed People’s Republic of the same name, was hit repeatedly by HIMARS systems yesterday, pro-Russian separatist spokesman Andrey Marochko said via Telegram.
Serhii Haidai, the head of the Ukrainian civil-military administration in the Luhansk region, said for his part that weapons depots were targeted.
