THE Ukraine guarantees “life and safety” of surrendering Russian soldiers, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said today, as Kiev’s forces push into southern and eastern Ukraine.
“We guarantee life, safety and justice for all those who immediately stop fighting” the minister said in Russian in a videotaped speech to Moscow’s military, also promising “trial for those who gave criminal orders”.
“You can still save Russia from tragedy and the Russian army from humiliation” or “be remembered as thieves, rapists and murderers” he added.
The Kremlin, by sending its army to occupy Ukraine, “deceived and betrayed you”, Reznikov also complained, according to APE-MPE.
“Moscow does not like the truth. It’s easier for them to pretend you fell as heroes fighting NATO troops. NATO countries supply us with weapons, it is true. But the Ukrainian military are the ones fighting you with these weapons,” he stressed.
“Ukrainians do not need Russian lands, ours are enough for us. And we will take it all back,” he also emphasized.
