There is a need for funds and the need for reception. There are many ways to help the people of Ukraine after the Russian invasion. There are local collections of medicines and food, there is a search for spaces to welcome those who may not have a place to stay, there is the need to send funds to the associations that have remained in Ukraine.
Italy Red Cross, Unicef And Unhcr started a fundraiser on Sunday 27 February that will continue until the following Sunday, March 6. By calling from a landline or by sending an SMS to the solidarity number 45525, you can make a donation: 2 euros by SMS; 5 and 10 euros with calls from a fixed network TIM, Vodafone, WINDTRE, Fastweb and Tiscali; 5 euro with call from fixed network TWT, Convergenze, PosteMobile.
There are many other ways to donate. For medical supplies there is Razom for Ukraine, a volunteer charity founded in 2014. United Help Ukrainand collects donations to provide emergency medical assistance and humanitarian aid. The fundraiser of Sunflower of Peace provides first aid kits to paramedics and frontline doctors. Voices of Children provides psychological support to children affected by conflict.
There are also Italian organizations that operate in Ukraine and need funds like Soleterre which supports children hospitalized for cancer in Ukrainian hospitals. Doctors Without Borders is present on Ukrainian territory. There Caritas Ambrosiana launched a fundraiser to help the Ukrainian population. Many parishes, Catholic and Orthodox, are organizing collections of medical and material, from food to blankets, to be sent to countries bordering Ukraine where tens of thousands of refugees have already arrived. For these the Community of Sant’Egidio. Among the other Italian associations there are Avis, Save the children, We world And Ai.Bi..
