A Ukrainian team will travel to the United States earlier this week to discuss a mineral agreement, a Ukrainian source said familiar with the situation to Reuters on Monday (7).
The administration of US President Donald Trump has proposed a more expansive mineral agreement than Ukraine has been reviewing in recent days.
Last week, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the government would choose a law firm to represent the country’s interests in negotiations with Washington and also present a new draft of the mineral agreement.
He added that “a technical team would be ready for a US trip for a dialogue with our American partners.” Zelensky clarified that he will not participate in this trip.
The president also said that “America is ready” to press Russia to accept a ceasefire, and the two countries “talked about increasing the pressure of sanctions on the Russians because they do not want to end the war.”
