Ukraine: Zelensky Accepts Soltz Invitation to Participate in Next G7 Summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “accepted an invitation” from Olaf Solz to attend the next G7 summit in Bavaria in late June, said the German chancellor, who visited Ukraine today.

“Thank you, Mr Zelensky, for accepting my invitation to attend the G7 summit, which will take place from 26 to 28 June at the castle complex of Schloss Elmau (southern Germany),” Soltz wrote on Twitter, without elaborating. whether Zelensky, who has not left Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24, will go to Bavaria or speak at the summit by video conference.

For his part, the Ukrainian president, in a post on the Telegram, thanked the leaders of Germany, France, Italy and Romania for showing solidarity with his country during a visit to Kyiv today.

“Thank you for your solidarity with our country and our people,” Zelensky wrote.

He tabled proposals for new sanctions against Russia

Ukraine made proposals for sanctions against Russia during a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky and the leaders of France, Germany, Italy and Romania in Kyiv today, the Ukrainian president’s chief of staff said.

“We need to increase pressure on the attacker to work together on the seventh package of sanctions on the gas embargo,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Yermak wrote in a Telegram post.
