Ukraine: Zelensky expects sanctions against Russia from allies

President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that he expected Ukraine’s allies to impose tangible sanctions on Russia, while the military announced that four ballistic missiles had been fired at Ukrainian territory from Belarus territory.

In the eastern Ukrainian city of Mariupol, city council officials said the bombings had hit a residential area and that some people had been confirmed dead.

Zelensky said Ukraine expects tangible help from its allies.

In addition, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba called on other countries to impose harsh sanctions on Russia immediately and to provide military and financial support to Ukraine.

“Right now, Putin is immersing Europe in its darkest period since 1939. Any government that hopes to wait for this to pass is naive. Do not repeat the mistakes of the past,” Kuleba wrote on Twitter.
