Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited troops on the front lines in the Zaporizhia region, his office said Sunday, a week after a similar trip to Kharkov.
“I want to thank you for your great work, for your service, for the protection of all of us, of our state,” Zelenski said, pausing for a minute for the fallen soldiers.
The presidential office said Zelensky also visited a medical facility in the area and spoke to people who had been forced to flee their homes, including from Mariupol, which is now in Russian hands.
The Ukrainian president promised to take action to ensure that all displaced people are properly housed.
“We will really help you deal with this issue,” he said.
