Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced on Monday (21) a new curfew in the Ukrainian capital.
In a statement on Telegram, Klitschko said the measure would start on Monday (21) at 8 pm (local time) and last until 7 am on Wednesday (23). Kiev time is five hours ahead of Brasilia time.
“Shops, pharmacies, gas stations, institutions will not work tomorrow [terça-feira]”, he said.
“So I ask everyone to stay at home or in shelters at the sound of an alarm. Only those with special permission will be able to move around the city.”
Some background: at least eight people were killed in a Russian attack on a shopping mall in Kiev’s Podilskyi district, according to information from the Ukrainian attorney general. That number was based on what he called preliminary information, suggesting the number could rise.
A team from CNN heard several explosions in Kiev on Sunday (20). Klitschko said the blasts were in the Podil district, which is part of the larger Podilskyi district, and hit residential and commercial areas.
