Kiev’s ambassador to Ankara said on Friday that Turkey was among the countries buying grain stolen by Russia from Ukraine.
“We do not want to fight forever and we are ready to return to the negotiating table,” said Ambassador Vassil Bodnar, according to the Sözcü newspaper, adding that they had called on Turkey to take part in sanctions against Russia.
Saying that “Russia shamelessly steals Ukrainian wheat and sells it to foreign countries, including Turkey”, the Ukrainian ambassador announced that they will file a lawsuit against the theft and sale of grain on the advice of Turkey.
Bodnar also told reporters that he had asked for help from Turkish authorities and Interpol, which is investigating who is involved in grain shipments passing through Turkish waters.
“Looking at the damaged infrastructure companies, this will be a really good opportunity for Turkish companies, unfortunately, companies cooperating with Russia will not be able to find prospects in the Ukrainian market,” Bodnar said.
