Ukrainian forces have been trying to regain territory from the Russians in recent days. A Ukrainian counterattack north and west of Kiev appears to have made some headway, jeopardizing Russian efforts to encircle the capital and threatening its ability to resupply exposed units north of the city.

A day before the NATO members’ summit to discuss the war in Ukraine, the alliance’s secretary general, Jens Stoltenberg, said that new troops should be sent to Eastern Europe, in order to increase military forces in allied territories in the region.

In the scenario with the most names of pre-candidates, the Minister of Citizenship, João Roma (Republicans), with 5%, the State Secretary of Education, Jerônimo Rodrigues (PT), with 4%, and Professor Kleber Rosa ( PSOL), with 2%.
The share of those who say they will vote blank, null or do not intend to vote represents 14% of respondents. The undecided amount to 9%.
Chemical weapons
US President Joe Biden left for Europe on Wednesday, where he will attend an emergency NATO summit on Ukraine. Biden said he thought the use of chemical weapons was a real threat from Russia.
Alckmin affiliation
Former São Paulo governor Geraldo Alckmin joined the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB), this Wednesday (23), in Brasília. He is quoted to be vice-president on the ticket with ex-president Lula (PT). The announcement is another step towards the ticket with PT.
