The Ukrainian Foreign Minister said that he would raise the issue of Germany’s refusal to supply military equipment with his German counterpart Analena Berbok during the talks that will take place later today in Kiev.
Germany has voiced support for Ukraine in its confrontation with Moscow following the gathering by Russia of tens of thousands of troops near the border with Ukraine, but has rejected Ukrainian demands for military equipment.
“Germany has repeatedly and publicly explained this decision. We consider these explanations as far as Ukraine is concerned. We believe that there is a wider scope for action for Germany,” Dmitry Kouleba told a news conference. “We have to respect the position of the state, but that does not mean we should not work with it.”
