Turkey is among the countries that could provide security guarantees to Ukraine in the event of the signing of any peace agreement with Russia, a senior Ukrainian official said on Monday.
“Turkey is among the countries that could guarantee our security in the future,” said Igor Zovkva, deputy head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, shortly before the start of a new round of talks between Moscow and Kiev. on Monday, as broadcast by Reuters.
Kyiv has demanded legally binding security guarantees that would secure Ukraine in the event of a future attack on its territory, in order to enter into any form of peace agreement with Russia.
Russian forces have been invading Ukrainian territory since February 24.
