Ukrainian refugee dies as soon as she arrives in Rome with her two children, after thirty hours of travel

The death of forty-five-year-old Ukrainian refugee Natalia Kretova, who died shortly after arriving in Rome after a thirty-hour journey, has caused a stir in Italy. The woman traveled to the Italian capital with her two children, aged 12 and 10.

As soon as the bus arrived in Rome and the passengers got off, Natalia Cretova suffered a heart attack in front of her children, who asked for help from fellow travelers and the men and women of the Italian Civil Protection.

Despite the efforts of two police officers who were near the bus and the immediate call to the hospital, the unfortunate mother could not be saved.

Her two children were transferred and are temporarily housed in a juvenile protection center in the Albano area, a village just outside Rome. They are in a state of shock and are constantly supported by a team of psychologists.

“This is another, tragic collateral loss of this inconceivable war,” writes the Italian newspaper La Repubblica today.
