“United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk today expressed his dismay at the alarmingly high number of executions this year in Iran”Ravina Samdasani said during a press briefing in Geneva.
“On average since the beginning of time, ten people have been executed per week in Iran, making it one of the countries with the most executions per year,” she said, adding that most were for drug-related offences.
