Under intense heat, Taylor Swift launches tour in Brazil; see the reactions on the networks

With the high temperatures recorded in Rio de Janeiro, Taylor Swift opened the Brazilian season of “The Eras Tour”, directly from the Nilton Santos Stadium, Engenhão, on Friday night (17), stirring social media.

The pop diva, who took to the stage rocked by the euphoric screams of Brazilian swifties, made a point of saying “hello” in Portuguese and stating that this was the audience of her childhood dreams.

The show, lasting more than three hours, celebrates the artist’s 17-year career and 10 albums – all represented by special costumes, sets and an impactful light show.

Tribute to Christ the Redeemer

Between one song and another, Taylor, who received a special screening at Christ the Redeemer after a virtual mobilization of fans, thanked them for the beautiful tribute.

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw it! I thought it was Photoshop because it couldn’t be real. It’s an honor, the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. And the most incredible thing is that you managed it because you donated food and water. This is really cool”, he commented.

Faced with the intense heat, the artist even asked her team to distribute water to fans who spent the night in line with the intention of reaching the long-awaited fence.

Web reacts to the first show

On X (formerly Twitter), the artist’s name was included in the ranking of the most talked about topics on the network. There, fans reacted excitedly to the singer’s first performance in the country after 11 years.

Others lamented and criticized the disorganization of the queues and the prohibition of basic items such as bottled water inside the stadium, despite the high temperature.
