A typing error in the grade spreadsheet released by the Independent League of Rio de Janeiro Samba Schools (Liesa) caused a confusion on social networks on Thursday night (6). If in the official result, announced after reading the notes in the investigation of Wednesday (5), the hummingbird was the champion, the material of the entity pointed to a different result.
In the official investigation, Greater Rio had lost only one tenth on battery. But in the spreadsheet initially released by Liesa, the Duque de Caxias school appeared with the maximum grade (30) and, therefore, would end the tied calculation with hummingbirds at points. For the tiebreaker criteria, Tricolor would be declared champion, which was enough to incite their fans on social networks.
Shortly thereafter, the Liesa spreadsheet was updated with the notes that had been released on Wednesday and the result was again proclaimed in the official investigation: Beija-Flor Champion. The entity also released all the notes and justifications attributed by the jurors, which helped to endorse the official result.
“The result with all the juror’s justifications is already there on the Liesa website, so pass there for you to check and understand even more about the competitive model of our carnival,” said Gabriel David, president of the Beija-Flor’s Patron and son, in the video in which he reported the dissemination of notes and justifications.
Schools pointed to inconsistencies in the trial
Four associations went to social networks to protest with the grades attributed by the jurors and the confusion caused by Liesa’s typing errors. Youth, Salgueiro, united by Father Miguel and Grande Rio itself were dissatisfied with judgment and confusion.
Tricolor de Caxias said it will question the inconsistency of the notes released in the Liesa plenary that will take place on Friday (7). The willow, even before the dissemination of the justifications, had also complained about the trial and pointed out the action of “thieves on duty”, which would have harmed the school.
