A mass of hot and dry air is expected to gain strength in areas of the Central-West, Southeast and South regions of Brazil, between this Wednesday (24) and Saturday (27). The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a humidity alert below 30%.
According to Climatempo, the capital of São Paulo reached an air humidity level of just 28% at the beginning of the week. In Costa Rica (MS) and Jataí (GO), the level of humidity in the air reached 22%.
The forecast for Sunday (28) is for a reduction in the area with high temperatures, with the highest maximums in Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo and Paraná.
What will cause the new heat wave
This new heat wave that hits the Center-West, Southeast and South of the country in the last week of April is related to the action of a high pressure system in the middle atmosphere.
The high pressure will act as an atmospheric lock. According to Climatempo, the system favors the maintenance of dry and hot air, causing high temperatures.
Furthermore, the lack of a cold air mass maintains the dominance of warm air over much of the country.
See Inmet's instructions for the hottest days:
Drink plenty of fluids;
Avoid physical wear and tear during the driest hours;
Avoid exposure to the sun during the hottest hours of the day;
