The sixth Book Fair at the São Paulo State University (Unesp) starts this Wednesday (3) and will have the participation of more than 160 authors. The event is one of the main events in the sector in São Paulo and will have great discounts for book lovers who want to shop at lower prices.
Editorial groups will be able to exhibit and sell their works which, according to the event organizers, may have discounts of more than 50% of the original price.
The event will take place on the Unesp campus in São Paulo, next to Metrô Barra Funda, in the west of the capital, and will have a broad cultural program related to literature. The event runs until Sunday (7).

Publishing groups will be able to exhibit and sell their works, but also participate in the virtual version of the fair, presenting varying percentages of discounts on books, from each exhibitor.

Lectures at the Unesp Book Fair
At the opening conference, scheduled for 9am, sociologist José de Souza Martins will speak about his most recent work: “Capitalism and slavery in post-slavery society”.
On Thursday (4), at 5pm, journalist Fernando Miter, national director of journalism at Rede Bandeirantes, will be the speaker on “Behind the scenes on TV: Democracy at the center of the game”.
On Friday (5), at 4pm, the historian and immortal of the Brazilian Academy of Letters Mary Del Priore will lead a conversation, with an autograph session, about “The paper castle: a story of Isabel de Bragança, princess imperial of Brazil, and Gastão de Orléans, Count of Eu”.
On Sunday (7), at 3 pm, one of the last conversations at the fair will be a virtual chat with Brazilianist James Green about his most recent release: “Writings from a red faggot”.
The cultural meetings will take place at Circo da Barra, an installation attached to the Unesp Institute of Arts (IA) building. Other details of the cultural program are available at Unesp Book Fair website.
