A team of researchers has found a new species of fish in the depths of a cave lake in China.
The species, which drew attention for looking like a unicorn, was named Sinocyclocheilus longicornus and measures between 10 and 14 centimeters in length. The discovery was described by the scientists in an article published in the journal ZooKeys.
The researchers discovered the new species while researching fish in the genus Sinocyclocheilus. Fish of this genus, which has 76 known species, are found only in China.

There are some similarities between the other Sinocyclocheilus and the new species found: both have little or no vision, lack of scales and lack of pigmentation.
Although in the photo the new species appears pink, in fact, the fish does not have any pigmentation in its skin. In addition, some of the species in the genus have the horn, while others have completely lost their eyes.
