Uniswap active users rise to two-year high

On April 19, the daily active users of the decentralized exchange Uniswap reached 84,796 for the first time since May 2021.

At the same time, gas fees in the Ethereum network also increased. The indicator jumped several times, exceeding 100 Gwei. At the time of writing, the average fee on the blockchain is around 40 Gwei. At the same time, the main activity is still concentrated in Uniswap.

Probably, the growth of protocol indicators is associated with a new wave of popularity of mem-tokens.

On April 14, Uniswap launched the Pepe (PEPE) coin, which grew thousands of times in a few days. But despite the high momentum and price spike, traders are unable to cash out their tokens due to liquidity issues and low demand.

However, one of the users managed to earn more than $2 million in transactions with PEPE in less than a week. Prior to this, the MEV bot generated ~$1.5M in pairs with the mem token, spending $1.3M on gas.

In March, the Uniswap team deployed version 3 of the protocol on the BNB Chain network.
