After debuting in Japan, the long-awaited themed area Super Nintendo World already has US opening date 🇧🇷 February 17, 2023 🇧🇷
Fully immersive, the first space of its kind in the country is located in a newly expanded part of the Universal Studios Hollywood movie studio and theme park in the outskirts of Los Angeles 🇧🇷
As in the Japanese area, the North American Super Nintendo World takes visitors to the world of characters Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach.
Full of colors and settings similar to video games from the emblematic Japanese company, the adventure in the place begins in Princess Peach’s Castle, which then opens to the Mushroom Kingdom.
Immersive Mario Kart attraction
The main attraction announced is the “Mario Kart™: Bowser’s Challenge” , a toy inside Bowser’s Castle that is inspired by the famous Mario Kart video game series. According to Universal, the attraction mixes augmented reality with projection mapped technology along with real scenarios that move along the track.
“In a multisensory space of color, sound and movement, visitors will be seated in four-seater vehicles and will travel through known tracks from the video game, through the creative and integrated use of augmented reality glasses”, says the statement.
With the help of technology, tourists can even travel underwater and cloud paths to compete for the Golden Cup while collecting coins to defeat the opposing team.

Restaurant, shop and augmented reality
In addition to the toy, the interactive space itself serves as an attraction, as if visitors were inside a game.
Tourists can compete against each other, as well as jump and punch the famous “question blocks” collecting virtual coins and even discover a new dimension with the help of interactive binoculars with augmented reality technology.
Players can also buy Power-up Bands bracelets linked to a smartphone application that stores virtual coins and keys.
A restaurant inspired by the world of Nintendo is also part of the area: the Toadstool Cafe options include garlic bread with cheese, mushroom soup, bacon and cheese sandwich, chicken pesto sandwich, and even tiramisù shaped like the famous question mark block from the Mario games.
Fans can also purchase collectibles at the 1-UP Factory store, which also has a selection of themed clothing, hats and plush characters.
