University of Michigan consumer sentiment rises to 80.7 in December, down from 81.3 expected

The University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index for December rose nearly four points in December, rising to 80.7 from the 76.9 obtained in November. The result disappoints the 81.3 estimates.

This is the best result seen in the last two months, after it reached 81.8 in October, its highest level since last February.
