Ton Duc Thang University in Vietnam hosted the International Conference on Blockchain and Advanced Financial Management, which was attended by leading scientists from around the world.
The scientific conference dedicated to the development of the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry brought together specialists, researchers and experts from leading scientific institutions of the world, such as Michigan and Sungkyunkwan State Universities, Thomas Bata University and Saxon University of Applied Sciences, Fengjia and Diponegoro Universities.
The director of the Vietnam Financial Consultants Association (VFCA), Le Long Giang, noted in his speech that the blockchain has become the second most important technology in the world. In his opinion, the application of blockchain in practice can destroy outdated economic models and change markets.
“Blockchain can take developing countries to the next level. Educators, researchers, technology transfer agents and entrepreneurs play a key role in this process. As for universities, they can act as co-authors of these processes. And their participation should be encouraged,” said Janga.
The agenda included reports and seminars on the development of digital technologies and blockchain, discussion of current and future legislation for the cryptocurrency industry, issues of working with big data technology and business models.
During the event, an additional workshop was organized on the application of blockchain in finance and banking to establish scientific cooperation between universities, institutions and research centers both in Vietnam and around the world.
Recall that in April, the country’s authorities and business representatives launched the Vietnam Blockchain Union (VBU), designed to advise investors and help local cryptocurrency projects.
